2) How long have you been practicing? - I cast my 1st circle in 1993.
3) How did you first discover and become interested in Magick? - I heard my guide’s thought voice suggesting Cunningham’s Solitary Wicca.
4) What is Witchcraft to you/ What does Witchcraft mean to you? - Self discipline and personal mind control; Nature is marvelous
5) What are some of your favorite components of Witchcraft? - Channeling Earth energy, the energy of using altar arrangements to carry spells, using the Circle to carry spells.
6) Do you meet with or partake in any activities with other Witches? - no
7) Do you have any advice for those beginning their journey in Witchcraft? - Sense Nature right where you are & befriend the genius loci; Casting circles will teach focusing, grounding, centering, projecting skills; get to know the Elements as energy forms of matter.
8) Is there anything important to remember when practicing Magick? - Learn to banish before summoning; always release what you call & close what you open; keep the altar elementally balanced.
. The altar is cosmos, earth & circle in miniature.
2)I've been practicing for approximately 9 months! (A newb if i do say so myself)
3)I had looked into Satanism a few years back, but realized none of that was for me. went back into Christianity but that didn't feel right till i started looking on to the "Learn Religions" website and found the "Paganism, Wicca, and witchcraft"section and something sparked in me!
4) Witchcraft is something that can not be bought or made copies of. Witchcraft is a way of life that makes you a better person.
5)Meditation and Connecting with things in your surrounding.
6)I currently practice somewhat solitary, but do receive help from others in the witches chat.
7)There is no manual or "training" to become a witch. If you want to start you should do some research! just know some sites/blogs/book may not have "accurate" information.
8)You don't need tools because the magick is YOU.
1) What type of Magick do you practice? I'm pretty eclectic and currently am looking into rootworking.
2) How long have you been practicing? Around 30 years come this summer.
3) How did you first discover and become interested in Magick? Ooooh… since childhood really but didn't really accept it as a viable practice until roughly 30 years ago.
4) What is Witchcraft to you/ What does Witchcraft mean to you? To me it is any method of practice that charges and moves energy towards a specific goal. As for what it means, it's a way to manage my life, a bit of an extra edge in things I feel need managed with a little extra oomph.
5) What are some of your favorite components of Witchcraft? That honestly depends on the day but typically candles are what I use most. I also tend to like using my hands more than a wand or athame. I might sometimes use an herbal blend. I think for me it's more about being able to improvise and learn other methods. of working so what might be a favorite today might change next week, month, or year.
6) Do you meet with or partake in any activities with other Witches? Not really, no. When I first started it was more because I couldn't find anyone local. Plenty online but meeting face to face was just not happening. As time went on I just grew to rather work alone anyway. Would I ever? I don't know. I think I'd have to get to know them very well first. I tend to get fairly easily distracted by newer energies so working with someone else might be difficult for me, certainly until I get used to being around those new people..
7) Do you have any advice for those beginning their journey in Witchcraft? Yes, read a lot. Compare notes. Use your research skills to dig deeper and further past what you are reading. Compare notes again. Practice what you are learning and compare notes again. Understand there are people who write books and self publish who just might not actually have as good of an understanding of what they are writing as they think they do. However it is all in the research and practice.
8) Is there anything important to remember when practicing Magick? Yes, that intention is only a guide. Learning to move that energy once you have charged it with intention is just as important. Be clear in what you are doing and why. I'd still suggest keeping records on what you do so you can make a note on what you are doing and how you go about it. Leave room to make notes on what you need to fix or change, especially if it's' something you might do again. This is a trial and error kind of path that takes time to develop so patience and dedication would be important to keep forefront.
2. My whole life it seems but I jumped deeply in maybe 12 years ago.
3. My interest in all things mysterious led me to the books of Aoumiel, where I truly found myself in those pages.
4. Witchcraft is many things to me. It's a way to take control of my life, to not be a leaf drifting in the wind. It's empowering but also humbling. But most of all it brings me closer to this amazing planet and the entire cosmos that surrounds it. It's brought amazing peace and fulfillment and understanding to me.
5. Not really sure what you mean by components.
6. I practice solitarily, which is my preference. Witchcraft is so personal to me it's difficult to imagine practicing in a coven. But I may try it sometime. It's good to be with friends of the same heart.
7. Read up on it a lot but only use what you read as a loose guide. Everything witchcraft is about ultimately has to come from inside yourself. Intuition is everything.
8. Anything you do with magick will come back to you. It's karma on steroids. Use it destructively and ultimately you destroy yourself.
Hope this helps you out!
