Hello. As I mentioned in my introduction (for those who have seen it) I'm rather new & in the sort of "seeking" phase of my spirituality & metaphysical beliefs.

This is my first post & I hope it's not a repeat, I crawled for some time & didn't see this exact topic.

Here I'd love opinions, input & anything that anyone would like to add.

To start: I have thought about magick for years & of course there must be innumerable manifestations of it.
However I find myself 'stuck' on the idea of sound being a vessel (or representation) of magickal experiences I've personally had.
I'm a very auditory person so I may be biased, which is why I would love any & all input.

My interpretation: Magick, for me, has been a fascinating concept since I was very young. And as someone who deeply loves physics I couldn't help but imagine it's most pure parts, or smallest inner workings I guess. Now as I said I would never claim my interpretation as universal or 'true' because we are all different & honestly I'm far too new to actually exploring this to claim I really know anything.
However for me magick seems like sound. On the smallest level the physical world itself seems to me like an infinite, overlapping choir of voices or tones from an Orchestra. So then I see magick as I've experienced it as a sort of 'bridging note' from one resonation to another.

If I wanted something specific to happen & I did my thing I'd see it like layering a new piece of music into a pre-existing song so that it sounded like I wanted it to.

So, my personal interpretation of this magickal force that allows for the fantastical is that like the weak magnetic force holding particles together, sound is existence & holds it together. Magick is an all encompassing resonation that allows connections to be made that otherwise were improbable.

That's my current feeling.

My request: knowing my interpretation does anyone here have anything they could share with me about their own?
I'd love to know how this truly magical* force feels & seems to others.

I would also love to read if anyone knows about practices, beliefs, cultures or anything that relates magick to sound & if so what's your opinion & where/how could I learn more about it.
Any ideas on how to better explore this interpretation & utilize it within my own practice & exploration would be fantastic.
Or if you simply have an opinion I'd like to read it.

Lastly I'll say I've been a bit nervous to share & hope this post is okay. I don't often use other forums & when I do I don't make posts.

Anyhow, thank you very much for giving me your time.

I've thought along similar lines. Frequency as the rate of vibration creates the field. Vibratory motion makes friction that makes static that attracts and holds matter; like cyclic rotation & socks in the dryer. One sock stays in this realm and the duplicate crosses the rotational void to an alternate frequency reality. Meanwhile in this realm dryer fuzz manifests intention. That's my kitchen witch's explanation. 😃

Your quite correct Void, " magick" from my point of view is made up of various parts. Energy, thoughts, intention, focus, transmutation, frequency, then vibration. I believe if you require a scientific explanation you should research Nikolai Tesla and his works. I personally observe the 12 spiritual laws when conducting rituals/ spells/ meditation, etc... But rest assured, your very correct, now comes the debatable question. Is this a human beings natural ability to begin with, or is it something else?

Thank you for your responses.

I'm surprised & very glad to see others agree.
The both of you, Norwich & Kensai Journeyman, both seem very polite & supportive. I appreciate it.

I do not know if either of you are open to talking more in depth about your own practices or beliefs etc. I wouldn't want to pry & would always respect privacy, however as someone lacking in a "place to start", as it were, I'd love to get to read real people's thoughts.

I know that books are an obvious starting point & am looking into them, yet it feels more…like it sticks with me I guess when a conversation can be had.

Anyhow, thank you again. I'm glad to see that more experienced individuals say I'm not far off. It means a lot.
